As some of you may know already, I attended my very first NYFW = New York Fashion Week. This is something that I dreamed about doing ever since I was a little girl. Having the honor to go was a really surreal experience for me. I’d just like to start off by saying that I’m so beyond humbled and thankful for this experience, and I’m thrilled to be sharing it with all of you.
This is Part 1 of my NYFW series, where I’ll be going over each of the days spent in full detail. James came along with me to help capture this crazy exciting experience.
6:00 AM: We took a red-eye flight from Reno and landed at about 6 in the morning, so we definitely had some time to kill before our first show at noon.
We left our baggage at our hotel concierge and decided to explore the streets of NYC since neither of us have been before.
Let me tell you – the photo ops here are just incredible. We snapped away shots of the never-ending skyscrapers and within minutes, we stumbled onto the set of the TODAY Show. There they were, the entire cast – from Al Roker to Carson Daly… the whole gang was there. We fan-boyed, waved to the camera, took a few selfies, and made our way towards the Radio City Music Hall.
There was a huge crowd gathered around a few blocks over, so we decided to see what all the fuss was about. A few seconds later we hear, “Reese, Reese, over here!” There she was, Reese Witherspoon – leaving the set of Good Morning America. It was a crazy first hour in New York City, that’s for sure.
10:00 AM: We finally headed back to the hotel and checked in early so that we can get ready for the first show of the week, Desigual.
12:00 PM: This show was definitely in my top 3 for the week. They sure put on a show – from the music, to the choreography, and the pieces of course. Everyone was loving it and dancing along. Check out my video from the show here. While I was at the show, James sat this one out so that he can capture the amazing streetstyle scene that was going on outside of Skylight Clarkson Square, and he even snapped some shots of Slick Rick (lol).
2:00 PM: After the show, we headed to Baublebar‘s gifting suite and showroom. Their HQ is exactly what you would think – so kitschy and adorable. We snuck in a special sneak peek of their upcoming Fall/Winter line, snacked on some egg-less cookie dough (I know, amazing right?!), and chatted with the lovely girls about all things jewelry and fashion.
4:00 PM: After, Baublebar, we decided to head back to the hotel since we didn’t get too much sleep during our flight. We took a power nap to re-energize for a showroom appointment I had later that evening.
6:30 PM: I quickly changed outfits and headed over to the Riviere Agency to pull some pieces for some super exciting shows we had lined up for the rest of the week. This was a really fun experience since everyone was super laid back, and they even helped me pick out pieces from the designers that were showing later that week.
I picked out a few pieces and we headed back to our hotel once more.
9:00 PM: At this point, we were both dead tired – so we headed across the street and grabbed some takeout to take back to our room. We knew we had to conserve our energy since we had a long week ahead of us.
